Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan Dasar (JIPD) or The Journal of Innovation in Elementary Education is an international, open access, multidisciplinary, double blind peer-reviewed journal that is online publishes two times in a year. JIPD publishes articles that pertain to both education theory and research and their implications for teaching and learning in the elementary and middle grades. In addition, JIPD presents articles that relate the latest research in teacher education and development, child development, educational psychology, educational policy, sociology and philosophy to school teaching and learning, educational technology, and curriculum development.


JIPD does not publish articles that have appeared elsewhere, nor does it consider for publication manuscripts that have been concurrently submitted to or are already under consideration for publication in other journals.  The editors encourage the submission of a variety of manuscripts: reports of empirical research, including experiments, quasi-experiments, case studies, ethnographies, design research, and surveys; philosophical or historical analyses; integrative literature reviews and theoretical analyses.

Articles accepted for publication in JIPD must address an important question concerning education in the elementary or middle grades, use research methods appropriate to investigate the question and be written in a manner that is clear, concise, and coherent.  An accepted manuscript must be of interest to JIPD readers and make significant contributions to the field. The study should address a significant question that is linked to relevant theory and related research; the study design should be sound, and the research methods must be appropriate for answering the research question; conclusions should be warranted by an explicit chain of reasoning in the manuscript.


JIPD adopts open access policy. Open access to information benefits the humanity as it improves the global value of information. All articles published in JIPD are licensed with "Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License". This license entitles all parties to copy, share and redistribute all the articles, data sets, figures and supplementary files published in this journal in data mining, search engines, web sites, blogs and other digital platforms under the condition of providing references. Open access is an apporach that eases the interdisciplinary communication and encourages cooperation among different disciplines. JIPD, therefore, contributes to its own field by providing more access to its articles and a more transparent review process.
